About me

Hi, I'm Lukas Alongi,  a recent graduate from South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences (XAMK) and an aspiring game designer. With a lifelong passion for gaming, storytelling, and worldbuilding, I have naturally gravitated toward game design, where I specialize in level, narrative, and world design.

As a designer, I succeed on crafting compelling player experiences; whether through interconnected storytelling, structured levels, or complementary mechanics. My strength lies in approaching design challenges methodically, always considering how specific design choices impact the broader gameplay experience. I believe excellent design comes from understanding the interlinked nature of all game elements and anticipating how decisions ripple across systems, story, and player engagement.

Level design, in particular, resonates with me because it sits at the intersection of storytelling and gameplay. A well-crafted level is both a narrative device and a gameplay challenge, communicating the designer's intentions without drawing away from of the game world.

While confident in my design sensibility and storytelling skills, I’m committed to continuous learning. I actively seek to broaden my knowledge across disciplines — design, art, and programming — believing that interdisciplinary understanding improves productivity, collaboration, and creativity within a team. My ultimate goal is to contribute to a landmark game project, one that leaves a lasting impact on players, where my individual contributions are clearly recognized as part of its success.
